Job Title: Construction Safety Coordinator

Overview:

The Construction Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of construction operations. This position involves monitoring safety practices and providing guidance to maintain high standards of safety performance.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A degree in safety, environmental science, or a related construction field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction safety or a similar consulting role.
  • Professional certifications such as OHST, CHST, ASP, or CSP are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and various electronic recordkeeping systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive audits and inspections of safety programs at construction sites, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations.
  • Assist in the management of contractor pre-qualifications and renewals in the EHS Contractor Safety Database.
  • Identify and evaluate potential hazards to mitigate safety risks effectively.
  • Engage in project safety meetings to stay informed about project developments and safety concerns.
  • Provide regular updates and safety performance metrics to management and project teams.
  • Participate in investigations of safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Deliver ongoing training and safety consultations to project teams and contractors.
  • Facilitate training sessions on various health and safety topics, both in-person and virtually.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations upon project completion.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders involved in the project.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
