Motion Recruitment is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator to become a vital part of our dynamic team.

Position Overview:

This role will initially be offered as a contract position with the potential for extension. The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations across various project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive audits and inspections of safety programs implemented by contractors and subcontractors at designated project locations, ensuring adherence to safety performance metrics and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Assist in the management of contractor pre-qualification and renewal processes within our EHS Contractor Safety Database, aligning with established safety protocols.
  • Identify and evaluate potential hazards proactively, providing guidance to mitigate safety and environmental risks impacting operations.
  • Engage in safety meetings and project discussions to stay informed about project timelines, priorities, and emerging challenges.
  • Deliver regular updates and safety performance metrics to management and relevant project stakeholders.
  • Participate in investigations of safety incidents and assess the effectiveness of corrective measures implemented.
  • Provide ongoing training and safety consultations to project teams and contractors regarding safety expectations and protocols.
  • Facilitate both in-person and virtual training sessions on a variety of health and safety topics.
  • Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations upon project completion.
  • Foster positive relationships with all project stakeholders to promote a collaborative safety culture.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial or construction safety consulting, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in safety roles is essential; familiarity with the entertainment or theme park industry is advantageous.
  • Professional certifications such as OHST, CHST, ASP, or CSP are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental health and safety legislation and processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and various electronic recordkeeping systems.
