Position Overview:
The role entails overseeing and managing the medical initiatives at a primary care facility, necessitating a substantial level of medical knowledge and leadership. The Medical Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and grant requirements while supervising various health-related projects.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a medical school accredited by the appropriate medical authorities or a Diplomate of national medical boards.
Mandatory Licenses and Certifications:
Must hold and maintain:
  • Medical license from the State of New Mexico with hospital admitting privileges.
  • DEA license, CSR, and Medicare/Medicaid numbers.
  • BLS/CPR or ACLS certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Preferred board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Alternatively:
  • Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
Mandatory Licenses and Certifications:
Must hold and maintain:
  • New Mexico Board of Nursing license as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • DEA license, CSR, and Medicare/Medicaid numbers, along with BLS/CPR or ACLS certification within 30 days of employment.
Alternatively:
  • Completion of a Physician Assistant program.
Mandatory Licenses and Certifications:
Must hold and maintain:
  • New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners license as a Physician Assistant.
  • Collaborative Physician Assistant Licensure.
  • DEA license, CSR, and Medicare/Medicaid numbers, along with BLS/CPR or ACLS certification within 30 days of employment.
Screening Criteria:
  • Adherence to mandatory testing and immunization protocols. Background check required for the organization.
Physical Requirements:
  • May involve travel for professional conferences and meetings. Ability to perform daily tasks such as standing, bending, and using office equipment. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and possess good vision and hearing capabilities.
