Residential Support Specialist

As a Residential Support Specialist at Advocates, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals facing mental health and/or substance use challenges. This entry-level position involves working collaboratively within a team to oversee the daily activities of residents in a supportive environment.
Your responsibilities will include providing continuous support, guidance, and role modeling to residents, adhering to personalized plans aimed at fostering independence and achieving individual goals. You will also assist with medication management, financial support, and facilitating community integration for residents.

Minimum Educational Requirement:
High School Diploma/GED
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver ongoing support, guidance, and supervision to clients in a residential setting, coordinating with other service providers as necessary.
- Develop and document Individualized Action Plans (IAPs) and Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) in collaboration with clients.
- Communicate updates regarding program participants' progress, mental health status, and any changes through daily notes.
- Monitor and document the administration of medications.
- Provide crisis intervention and facilitate access to emergency services when required.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license, access to a reliable and insured vehicle, and willingness to transport clients.
- Exceptional interpersonal, judgment, and coaching abilities.- Strong communication skills.
- Competence in utilizing basic computer applications.
- A desire to excel in a dynamic, client-focused, team-oriented environment.
- A demonstrated understanding of and ability to serve culturally diverse populations.
