POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Family Support Specialist at South Middlesex Opportunity Council, you will foster and strengthen positive connections between families and educational teams. Your role will be vital in enhancing Parent, Family, and Community Engagement, while also supporting initiatives aimed at School Readiness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of South Middlesex Opportunity Council's childcare philosophy and regulatory standards.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings, communicate effectively with supervisors, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with educational teams, facilitate parent meetings, assist with home visits, and engage in recruitment activities.
  • Provide support and crisis intervention to families, uphold confidentiality, and ensure adherence to program requirements.
  • Work alongside team members, engage with clients, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Relevant experience is advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Regular physical examinations and certifications such as First Aid and Child CPR are necessary.
  • Ability to drive as required.
