Walden School is a recognized residential therapeutic and educational program catering to deaf children and youth aged 8 to 22, many of whom have faced significant challenges and language deprivation.

Role Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible for executing treatment plans and ensuring the safety and well-being of children residing at Walden School.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee children during daily activities and assist with essential living skills.
- Support children using methods aligned with the treatment philosophy of Walden School.
- Establish and maintain meaningful, supportive relationships with children while upholding appropriate adult/child boundaries.
- Communicate relevant information regarding students to other staff through logs and reports.
- Maintain current certifications in PART, Pro-Act, OSHA, CPR, and First Aid.
- Employ behavior management techniques consistent with the mission of Walden School and individual treatment plans.
- Design living skills activities that are age-appropriate and tailored to the students' abilities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of experience in a residential treatment setting or a degree in Human Services preferred.
- Experience in crisis prevention and the ability to manage challenging behaviors preferred.
- Ability to maintain composure and a supportive demeanor during crises.
- Conversational fluency in American Sign Language is required; native or near-native fluency is preferred.
This position is available on a rotating basis until all vacancies are filled.
