About Marie Philip School:

Marie Philip School serves nearly 200 deaf and hard of hearing students on our Framingham, MA campus, utilizing an ASL/English bilingual and bicultural educational framework.

About Walden School:

Walden School is a recognized residential therapeutic and educational program for deaf children and youth aged 8 to 22, who have often faced significant challenges and language deprivation.

About TLC:

The Learning Center for the Deaf is a leading provider of services for deaf and hard of hearing individuals and their families.

Role Summary:

The Program Director will oversee the management and operational effectiveness of the residential services at Walden and Marie Philip Schools. This role includes direct supervision of residential supervisors, ensuring the provision of effective oversight for all childcare staff, and developing schedules and procedures that align with the program's philosophy while meeting student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Management:

  • Supervise schedules and activities to ensure student safety and promote learning, healing, and personal development.
  • Oversee residential activities to meet the therapeutic needs of students.
  • Facilitate the development of essential life skills among students.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians to gather input on their child's needs and keep them informed of progress.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Walden School to monitor the program budget for resource optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations by conducting biannual reviews of Individualized Service Plans.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and lead the re-licensing process with the Department of Early Education and Care.
  • Review and oversee Critical Incident Reports for residential shifts.

Supervision:

  • Provide direct oversight to residential supervisors, ensuring the implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Supervise the Student Activities Coordinator and Independent Living Skills Specialist, ensuring effective program execution.
  • Ensure thorough supervision of all childcare workers in the residential programs.
  • Facilitate ongoing training for childcare supervisors, including opportunities for professional development.
  • Provide necessary training, including certification as a Professional Assault Crisis Training (Pro-ACT) trainer.

Program Development:

Collaborate with the Leadership Team to evaluate program effectiveness, revise policies as needed, and set goals for ongoing development.

Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of performing all job-related duties, including managing physically challenging situations when necessary.
