Position Overview:
The Advanced Patient Care Coordinator is a vital role that requires a high level of expertise in patient services. This position is dedicated to ensuring an exceptional patient experience by consistently delivering outstanding customer service and patient care. The coordinator will manage the clerical and medical functions of a healthcare team, facilitate patient registration, and enhance access to services for both new and returning patients.

Essential Qualifications:

An associate degree along with a minimum of one year of experience in clerical or customer service roles. A combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered for this position.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience in patient registration, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification is preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

LEADERSHIP:
  • Act as a team leader and provide guidance to peers.
  • Effectively triage issues as they arise.
  • Understand clinic operations to optimize patient flow and service delivery.
CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in all interactions with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Engage with patients, physicians, and referral sources in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
  • Manage incoming calls with accuracy and a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Document calls and triage patient needs to ensure safety and satisfaction.
  • Serve as a patient advocate, collaborating with various departments to achieve shared objectives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in all communications.
  • Address patient concerns and provide service recovery when necessary.
APPOINTMENT MANAGEMENT:
  • Implement clinical policies to effectively schedule patient appointments.
  • Coordinate financial counseling for surgical procedures.
  • Conduct reminder calls to patients regarding their appointments.
  • Educate patients about billing processes and financial responsibilities.
  • Provide cost estimates for services to patients.
  • Assist patients with outstanding bills.
  • Facilitate follow-up appointments and referrals during patient visits.
PATIENT CHECK-IN:
  • Prepare patient paperwork and charts for visits.
  • Accurately process all payments and related transactions.
PATIENT REGISTRATION:
  • Verify patient eligibility and pre-register individuals by collecting necessary demographic and insurance information.
  • Document details required for insurance reimbursement.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare and other insurance policies.
  • Communicate with patients and healthcare staff regarding access and authorization challenges.
PATIENT DISPOSITION:
  • Ensure timely and accurate disposition of each patient.
