Position Title: Advanced Neurodiagnostic Technician

Job Overview:

As an Advanced Neurodiagnostic Technician, you will utilize your expertise to conduct a variety of Electroneurodiagnostic assessments, including but not limited to electroencephalograms (EEG), intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM), long-term monitoring (LTM), evoked potentials (EP), and nerve conduction studies (NCV). This role also includes mentoring and guiding junior technicians.


Qualifications:

Applicants must possess an Associate's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in Electroneurodiagnostic or a related field, or have equivalent qualifications. A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required, along with credentials from a UTMB-approved agency in R. EEG T., CNIM, R.NCS.T., R. EP.T., or CLTM. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also necessary.


Department Highlights:

UTMB's Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) is expanding and seeks enthusiastic individuals to join our team. Our epilepsy program encompasses a range of advanced testing techniques, including Phase I EMU, Phase II sEEG, ECOG, Wada, Ictal Spect, and ICU LTM. We are committed to providing cutting-edge care and fostering a learning environment through routine epilepsy surgery conferences and on-the-job training.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lab protocols in accordance with American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS) Guidelines.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members.
  • Conduct Electroneurodiagnostic studies following established protocols.
  • Communicate procedures to patients and gather relevant medical histories.
  • Apply standard electrode placements and record studies, making necessary adjustments based on patient history.
  • Identify and rectify electrical and electronic issues during procedures.
  • Review and monitor raw data and video recordings.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports of neurodiagnostic studies for interpretation.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold safety standards.
  • Ensure a clean and professional working environment.

Compensation:

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
