Position Overview:
The Advanced Patient Care Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring an exceptional patient experience by consistently delivering outstanding customer service and patient support. This position involves coordinating administrative and clinical activities within a healthcare team, managing patient registration processes, and facilitating access to services for both new and returning patients.

Required Qualifications:
An Associate degree coupled with a minimum of one year of experience in clerical or customer service roles. A combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in patient registration, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification is highly desirable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership:
Demonstrates the ability to lead a team effectively.
Provides guidance and support to peers.
Skilled in triaging issues efficiently.
Understands clinic operations to optimize patient flow and meet their needs.

Customer Engagement:
Delivers high-quality customer service in all interactions with patients and healthcare professionals.
Engages in direct, professional, and knowledgeable communication with patients, physicians, and referral sources. Handles calls with accuracy and exceptional service.
Ensures that patient inquiries are addressed and accurate information is gathered.
Documents calls appropriately and triages them to ensure patient satisfaction and safety. Acts as a patient advocate, collaborating with various departments to achieve shared objectives.
Maintains confidentiality regarding patient information in all communications.
Addresses patient concerns, implements service recovery strategies, and escalates issues when necessary.

Appointment Coordination:
Applies clinical entity policies to effectively schedule patient appointments.
Coordinates financial counseling for surgical procedures.
Conducts reminder calls to patients regarding their appointments.
Educates patients and responsible parties about billing processes and financial responsibilities, including third-party benefits information. Provides estimates for out-of-pocket costs.
Advises patients on outstanding bills.
Secures future appointments during service for follow-ups, referrals, and ancillary services.

Patient Arrival:
Welcomes patients and prepares necessary documentation for their visits.
Accurately processes all payments, tokens, and authorized deferments.

Patient Registration:
Verifies eligibility and pre-registers patients by collecting demographic information and insurance details at each encounter.
Documents necessary information for third-party reimbursements.
Ensures compliance with Medicare and other insurance coverage requirements.
Communicates with patients, referral sources, and clinical staff regarding any access or authorization challenges.

Patient Disposition:
Completes the disposition process for each patient within the designated timeframe.
