Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team at J.W. Didado Electric, LLC. As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in determining the approximate costs of various electrical installations for industrial and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive construction cost estimates from conceptual design to final design, including construction phase change order estimates.
  • Prepare a basis of estimate outlining the scope, exceptions, allowances, and format, in accordance with client requirements.
  • Evaluate and develop labor rates and subcontract costs.
  • Enter information into a spreadsheet or database for inclusion in an estimate.
  • Analyze project documentation to scope, organize, and deliver equipment, material, and labor cost estimates.
  • Develop project-specific estimates based on project plans and schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain a basis of estimate for each project.
  • Perform estimate benchmarking and compile project estimates prior to internal and external review.
  • Develop the estimate plan and communicate related information.
  • Lead reviews of project estimates with engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure estimates are consistent with client common processes and quality standards and accurately reflect project staffing requirements.
  • Update estimates to project upon award and generate award documents for review.
  • Identify areas of importance (milestones, LDs) of a project and relay to the sales team.
  • Facilitate a scope review with the Project Manager and designers.

Qualifications

  • Education through an accredited JATC or trade school.
  • Bachelor's or Associate Degree in electrical engineering or a similar field, a plus, but not required.
  • 3-5 years of project estimating and related experience.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with state electrical and safety codes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to proactively address potential issues.
  • Able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to the team's success.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Able to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven work environment.
