Position Overview:
As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing comprehensive estimates based on design documents, narratives, and specifications, specifically for Electrical/Technology/Low Voltage System trades.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee estimating duties for intricate projects, including Mission Critical and Government contracts valued at $25M or more.
  • Effectively communicate estimates and scopes of work to relevant stakeholders, including project staff and clients.
  • Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and analyses for Electrical, Technology, and Low Voltage systems from conceptual design to completed construction documents.
  • Evaluate existing site conditions and contract documents to identify necessary scope not already indicated.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local suppliers and vendors to ensure accurate pricing for materials and equipment.
  • Collaborate with local trade partners to create a robust list of qualified bidders for projects.
  • Perform constructability analyses and communicate any design issues to the project team.
  • Engage in cost analysis and life cycle assessments with the design team.
  • Participate in decision-making processes regarding MEP trade partners for project pursuits.
  • Lead strategic initiatives and special projects related to MEP across the company.
  • Provide expertise in Electrical, Technology, and Low Voltage systems for project pursuits.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of MEP training programs.
  • Facilitate the integration of MEP Operations staff during the Preconstruction phase.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations and Estimator staff to address general conditions in estimates.
  • Coordinate equipment pricing for estimates and conduct value analyses for cost-effective alternatives.
  • Act as a liaison with engineers, design consultants, and trade partners to resolve project-related issues.
  • Prepare and compile estimates and proposals for various contract types.
  • Engage in estimate reviews with the design team and clients.
  • Ensure a smooth transition of knowledge from Preconstruction to Operations during project hand-offs.
  • Author scope requisitions for bidding and procurement of Electrical, Technology, and Low Voltage systems.
  • Assess subcontractor proposals to ensure comprehensive scope coverage.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant estimating experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Electrical, Technology, and Low Voltage systems.
  • Ability to develop advanced scenarios for comprehensive cost analysis based on project documentation.
  • Strong project management skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred, with the ability to guide and mentor team members.

Physical Demands:
The role requires the ability to sit, use hands for tasks, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:
Work is primarily conducted in an office setting, with occasional visits to construction sites.
