Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed mechanical cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Review and validate subcontractor proposal pricing and change orders.
  • Develop value analysis by identifying cost-efficient alternatives to proposed scopes.
  • Support meetings with clients, architects, and engineers to discuss cost-related aspects of projects.
  • Lead mechanical cost efforts in core markets, including Data Centers, Aviation, Higher Education, and Corporate/Commercial Office.
  • Perform material takeoff and input data into computerized cost models.
  • Prepare comparative cost analysis and explain variances to project stakeholders.
  • Communicate with mechanical equipment vendors, design engineers, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Manage and develop younger mechanical estimators.
  • Represent Holder at coordination meetings, industry events, and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of mechanical estimating experience, specifically in HVAC, Plumbing, and/or Building Automation Systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, HVAC, plumbing, architectural, and civil plans and specifications.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of MEP Systems.
  • Experience leading a team of MEP Mechanical Estimators.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
