Job Summary

BAE Systems USA is seeking a skilled Crane Operator - Heavy Equipment Specialist to support the Norfolk Ship Repair facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, performing crane maintenance, and ensuring the safe operation of cranes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate 2 or more electrically, hydraulic, and manual powered cranes in a seated position
  • Assist with maintenance of the cranes and lifts daily
  • Clean, grease, and perform general housekeeping for the cranes
  • Understand crane safety limits, devices, and locations that make the cranes safe to use
  • Understand all procedures for fire, accident, or injury prevention and response
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum 4 to 7 years of relevant experience
  • Certified in 1 crane (either portal or mobile cranes)
  • Certified on at least 1 portable crane to include: G8, G7, G3, wing wall crane, diesel electric, diesel hydro, all electric
