Key Responsibilities:- Fit, align, and weld components to create complete assemblies or subassemblies according to technical drawings and layout guidelines.
- Utilize measuring instruments to confirm that workpieces meet specified dimensions.
- Tack-weld assembled parts to secure them in place.
- Inspect metal materials or components to verify adherence to specifications.
- Utilize various tools to align and fit components as per technical requirements.
- Identify and mark cutting lines on materials.
- Set up and operate machinery for the fabrication and assembly of metal parts.
- Manually or mechanically position components using hoists or cranes.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Proficient in the use of cutting tools and interpreting technical drawings.
- Experienced in welding, fitting processes, and material fabrication.
- Capable of independently resolving job-related challenges while adhering to safety protocols.
- Familiarity with both power and hand tools, as well as positioning equipment.
- Understanding of shipbuilding practices and inspection criteria.
- Commitment to maintaining fire safety and industry safety standards.
- May require occasional oversight.
