- Surface Preparation: Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning and positioning them correctly.
- Welding Process Selection: Select appropriate welding torches, nozzles, or electrodes for specific jobs.
- Equipment Operation: Set up and operate welding equipment, including larger mechanized welding machines.
- Welding Execution: Perform welding using various processes such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Quality Control: Ensure welds meet quality and safety standards by performing visual inspections on fitment and welds.
- Code Compliance: Adhere to welding codes, symbols, and specifications.
- Material Handling: Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move and position materials.
- Work Environment: Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members and departments to complete projects efficiently.
- Reporting: Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Combo Fitter/Welder, with a strong background in fitting and welding metal structures.
