Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist to join our team as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation. The successful candidate will provide early childhood mental health consultation services to children under the age of 6 years enrolled in early learning centers and family child care homes in Southern Louisiana and their childcare caregivers and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide early childhood mental health consultation services to children under the age of 6 years and their caregivers
  • Conduct clinical assessments and develop treatment plans for children and their families
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to provide consultation and training
  • Develop and implement reflective supervision, teaching, and training programs for childcare providers
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in infant and early childhood mental health consultation
Requirements
  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or School Psychology from an APA-accredited program
  • Successful completion of an APA-accredited internship
  • Experience in a clinical setting working with children and adults
  • Ability to provide training to other professionals and students
  • Competent communication and writing skills
  • Flexibility and ability to organize and manage time independently
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience participating as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Working knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices in child care
  • Experience in supervision and teaching
  • Experience with consultation to parents, educators, and child welfare staff
