Job Overview

The Vice President of Portfolio Management (VPPM) is responsible for the stewardship and execution of all MPO initiatives within the designated MPO portfolio, including oversight of Profit and Loss (P&L) metrics.

Position Summary:

The primary objective of the iNovex Information Systems Vice President of Portfolio Management is to ensure ownership and accountability for the successful performance and implementation of all MPO programs. The VPPM collaborates closely with program directors to set strategic objectives and a vision for growth, ensuring that each program's targets, key performance indicators (KPIs), and technical execution align with the overarching goals established by executive leadership. This role requires a visionary leader capable of inspiring collaboration across a diverse portfolio and mentoring program directors effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of the MPO portfolio, including its technical capabilities, missions, and clientele.
  • Work in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer and other senior leaders to develop and manage a comprehensive portfolio budget, which encompasses:
    • Revenue and expense forecasting
    • Financial data analysis to uncover trends and areas for enhancement
    • Strategy formulation for revenue growth and cost reduction
    • Performance monitoring against financial targets with necessary adjustments
    • Stakeholder communication regarding financial outcomes and performance
  • Oversee capacity planning within the Delivery organization alongside the Operations Transition Manager and budget planning for capacity-driven hiring.
  • Lead active market segments including MPO, LPO, SETA, and others, crafting visions for these markets, collaborating with leads and growth teams to enhance our presence, and fostering strong relationships with key decision-makers and executives.
  • Identify and track KPIs across the portfolio, including award fee scores, CPEA scores, customer satisfaction metrics, staffing levels, and other relevant indicators.
  • Formulate strategies to enhance KPIs in partnership with corporate delivery and operations teams.
  • Guide and develop career progression for key Program Managers and emerging leaders to ensure retention and growth of top talent.
  • Engage in growth strategy discussions related to the MPO Mission Operations Portfolio Pipeline, including participation in Gate Reviews, Color Reviews, and other growth-oriented meetings.
  • Foster a culture of growth throughout the portfolio, focusing on expanding current contracts, staffing needs, and identifying opportunities to assist clients in overcoming their most significant challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Technology team to guide investments and produce whitepapers that address emerging technology gaps and the technical development needs of mission support staff.
  • Partner with the Finance team to manage portfolio and individual program budgets, execute employee engagement initiatives for retention, and develop compensation strategies such as bonuses and spot awards. Implement strategies to align direct labor on prime programs with corporate objectives.
  • Work with the People Services team to ensure programs are adequately staffed and that any HR issues are resolved promptly and thoroughly.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A current PMP certification is advantageous.
  • Requires over 15 years of experience leading teams within the Department of Defense (DoD) with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience as a Program Manager on large-scale DoD programs is preferred but not essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment.
  • Position may necessitate travel as required by client needs.
  • Work Schedule - Full-time, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for off-hours as needed to respond to organizational requirements.

Security Clearance: Position requires an active Security Clearance with the appropriate Polygraph.
