Animal Clinic Operations Manager

Shawnee Animal Clinic is a growing, family-oriented veterinary practice seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to fill the role of Veterinary Practice Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all office administration procedures, ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and multitasking individual who can effectively communicate with pet owners and veterinary staff members. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional management, organizational, and customer service skills, with a strong ability to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:- Office Administration: Coordinate and manage all office administration procedures, including ordering, inventory management, and scheduling.
- Staff Management: Direct on-the-job training, advise employees on performance requirements, and prepare appraisals.
- Recruitment and Termination: Recruit, hire, and onboard staff members, as well as terminate employees who do not meet the hospital's standards.
- Marketing and Community Outreach: Market the hospital to prospective customers and the veterinary community by attending local and regional events.
- Employee Relations: Resolve informal employee complaints, provide explanations of hospital policies and procedures, and maintain effective employee-management communication.
- Patient Care: Ensure accurate and permanent records of patient information, including knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
- Inventory Control: Establish and maintain an inventory control system to ensure adequate stocks of supplies are available.
- Payroll and Benefits: Manage and submit payroll accurately and in a timely manner, as well as ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Vendor Relationships: Establish and maintain good relationships with vendors to receive the best support and services.
- Emergency Response: Notify veterinary staff of emergency cases promptly.
- Training and Development: Provide training to office employees as needed and ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of management experience in a veterinary hospital or 3+ years of veterinary experience.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of veterinary medicine terminology, hospital procedures, and inventory control systems.
- Skills: Compassionate, calm, team player, multitasker, and strong communicator with high organizational skills and computer proficiency.
