Position Overview:

Wells Fargo is on the lookout for a dynamic Senior Cybersecurity Solutions Architect to be part of a vibrant team focused on pioneering encryption, tokenization, and key management innovations that safeguard information across the organization. This position will serve as a technical authority and an individual contributor, guiding teams in the design, implementation, and operational upkeep of cryptographic products and services, including Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and security appliances.

The perfect candidate will possess substantial experience in the architecture and deployment of cryptographic solutions across various environments, including physical, virtual, and containerized setups. Additionally, expertise in process automation related to product development, operational support, and customer integration is essential. This role will report to the Senior Manager of the Encryption, Tokenization, and Key Management division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and automation initiatives for encryption, tokenization, and key management solutions, including Hardware Security Modules and security applications across diverse environments.
  • Offer technical direction and oversight to teams responsible for product delivery and ongoing maintenance.
  • Create and sustain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, deployment methodologies, automation procedures, and operational workflows.
  • Engage in research, analysis, and assessment of emerging cryptographic products and services.
  • Participate in Proof of Concept (POC) evaluations and demonstrations for new cryptographic technologies.
  • Assist in compliance audits, collect evidence of adherence to company policies, and drive necessary product improvements to address findings.
  • Conduct technical investigations of incidents to determine root causes and propose future mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with various Wells Fargo teams, including compliance, security architecture, and security evaluation units, to ensure cryptographic solutions meet company standards.
  • Engage with vendors to comprehend their technology roadmaps, influence future developments, and ensure that product enhancement requests align with Wells Fargo's needs.
  • Work alongside partner engineering teams to identify and rectify security vulnerabilities and perform risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate security protocols.
  • Support incident response efforts, root cause analysis, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Oversee a team of engineers and influence design and architecture decisions regarding encryption infrastructure to support business unit customers.
  • Ensure that design choices take into account potential impact and business continuity requirements to minimize disruptions during service changes or security incidents.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Information Security Engineering or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
  • 5+ years of experience with scripting and automation using tools such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, VBScript, or JavaScript.
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux and Windows server environments.
  • 4+ years of experience with encryption, tokenization, and key management technologies.
  • 4+ years of experience in the administration and support of hardware security modules or security appliance devices.
  • 4+ years of advanced knowledge of cryptographic protocols and algorithms.
  • 4+ years of understanding of format-preserving encryption (FPE), tokenization, and transparent data encryption (TDE).
  • 3+ years of experience as a Subject Matter Expert in designing solutions for Data at Rest encryption using Thales Vormetric DSM and CipherTrust Manager appliances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD automated build and deployment methodologies.
  • Advanced scripting capabilities, particularly in log management, data collection, error tracking, and alerting.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and implementing synthetic transactions for application and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum or Kanban project management methodologies.
  • Public cloud engineering or support experience.
  • Experience conducting technical product assessments and developing implementation strategies in a large enterprise setting.
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or equivalent.
  • Cloud certifications such as AZ-900, MS-900, or equivalent/higher.
  • Experience with infrastructure upgrades, security patches, or version updates.
  • Experience with Splunk.
  • Familiarity with Hardware Security Modules from vendors like Thales, Entrust, Futurex, or Fortanix.
  • Experience in the financial services sector.
