Position: Senior Cybersecurity Architect

Contract Duration: 6 months, renewable

Role Overview:

Our client is in search of a Senior Cybersecurity Architect who will utilize extensive knowledge in information systems and security to formulate strategies and solutions that evolve with emerging threats over time.

The architect will be responsible for designing architectures, solutions, and standards while collaborating closely with other IT leaders to advocate for secure designs and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit strong conceptual thinking and communication skills, capable of translating intricate business and technical requirements into effective and understandable solutions.
  • Employ robust logic and principles-based reasoning to define solutions and substantiate proposals.
  • Contribute to the formulation and upkeep of the information security strategy, ensuring that security considerations are integrated into the definition, design, implementation, and operation of all IT services, systems, and platforms.
  • Research, design, and promote new technologies, architectures, and solutions that meet the security needs of the enterprise, its clients, business partners, and vendors. Maintain deep expertise in the evolving landscape of IT security vulnerabilities, threats, exploits, and mitigations.
  • Play a pivotal role in the design and execution of security initiatives and serve as the lead engineer supporting security infrastructures.
  • Act as a vital member of the Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT).

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of NIST and ISO 27001 security practice frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with security infrastructures such as Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, Web Content Filters, Proxies, DLP, SIEM, and log aggregation technologies.
  • Proficient in operating various IT infrastructures including Telecom, databases, Windows, and *NIX systems, as well as virtualization platforms.
  • Skilled in scripting/programming languages like Python and PowerShell, with expertise in enterprise identity and namespace services such as Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, Oauth, and SAML.
  • Familiar with enterprise certificate management and PKI services, as well as international data privacy and U.S. HIPAA regulations and best practices.
  • Knowledgeable in relevant enterprise architecture methodologies, including Zachman Framework and TOGAF.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in application or infrastructure penetration testing.
  • Demonstrable expertise in configuration automation practices and toolchains such as Chef, Puppet, and Ansible.
  • Experience in creating, securing, and managing Cloud infrastructures like Azure and Kubernetes.

Educational Background:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Professional security management certification, such as ISC(2) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), SANS GIAC Information Security Professional (GISP), GIAC-Security Expert (GSE), or GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED).
