Definition and Class Characteristics

Are you prepared to contribute to a dedicated financial team? The County of Nevada is seeking an Accounting Technician to join the Auditor-Controller's Office. Accounting Technicians play a crucial role in the financial management of the county, ensuring the protection of fiscal resources through a commitment to precision, integrity, transparency, and service. This position involves a variety of essential tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Receiving, reviewing, verifying, and processing financial transactions by assessing claims, invoices, and related documents for completeness.
  • Preparing payment vouchers.
  • Assisting in the formulation of departmental budgets and maintaining accurate records of expenditures.
  • Conducting account reconciliations, journal entries, and generating reports.
  • Providing administrative support and customer service for both internal and external clients via various communication channels.
  • Utilizing multiple software platforms for accounting, recordkeeping, and document management.
  • Compiling and analyzing data using Microsoft Excel.
