About the Role


The Financial Planning Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the budgeting process in collaboration with the Associate Director of Financial Planning and Systems.

This position requires the application of corporate finance methodologies to evaluate investment opportunities and expenditure projects, conduct detailed analysis and reporting, and collaborate with senior leadership and department managers.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and a keen interest in understanding the business landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, reporting, and analytical processes - Budgeting, Reforecasting, Monthly Financial Reviews
  • Identify and analyze business drivers for variances, including volume, pricing, and product mix
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to provide financial insights for business cases related to new product initiatives, capital expenditures, and cost reduction strategies, employing corporate finance techniques such as DCF, NPV, Breakeven, Payback, and Sensitivity analysis
  • Analyze financial data, extract insights, and offer recommendations to optimize return on investment
  • Work closely with finance team members and cross-functional leaders to review financial data, challenge assumptions, and develop budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor trends in financial performance and propose strategies for enhancement
  • Assist in the preparation of comprehensive financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for forecasting and budgeting purposes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required
  • 1-5 years of experience in financial analysis, cost analysis, or operational support
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and familiarity with ERP systems, with a preference for Sage X3, Oracle, and EPM/HFM reporting platforms
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to create detailed models and utilize pivot tables
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information
  • Proficient in general computer applications, including Microsoft Office
  • Creative thinking skills to identify new opportunities for business process improvements
  • Exceptional analytical, modeling, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking and presentation capabilities

  • Ability to work in an open environment with varying temperatures and standard lighting.
  • Required to work on a computer and mobile device for extended periods, with frequent interruptions.
  • Must navigate stairwells to attend meetings and engage with team members across multiple floors.

Compensation

Starting annual salary:
$90,000. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
