Job Summary:The Public Health Nurse will be responsible for providing health education, conducting health screenings, and making referrals to healthcare providers as needed. You will work closely with school administrators, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the health and safety of students and staff.
Responsibilities:- Provide health education to students and staff on various health topics, including nutrition, physical activity, and disease prevention.
- Conduct health screenings, including vision, hearing, and scoliosis screenings.
- Make referrals to healthcare providers as needed, including pediatricians, dentists, and mental health professionals.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement health education programs.
- Maintain accurate records of health screenings and referrals.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Ability to perform Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
