Role Summary

We are seeking an Associate Programmer to deliver outstanding preventive and maintenance services to our clientele while ensuring exceptional customer relations. This position is crucial in helping us fulfill our organizational vision and uphold our core values.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, with some trade school experience or 6 months to 2 years of trade school certification.
  • 2 years of fire alarm work experience with S-98 certification, or 4+ years of relevant experience with the ability to obtain S-98 certification within 3 months of hire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute tasks typical of a Troubleshooter as required.
  • Program small to medium-sized projects and associated fire alarm panels.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
  • Assess the functionality of components.
  • Install components and prewire fire alarm panels, ensuring correct wiring and voltage output.
  • Bootstrap fire alarm panels effectively.
  • Troubleshoot field devices and circuits proficiently.
  • Maintain detailed records of all tasks performed and materials utilized.
  • Generate system status reports following troubleshooting activities.
  • Foster positive client relationships through professional interactions.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficient in computer applications and software.
  • In-depth understanding of fire alarm systems, their operation, and functionality.
  • Ability to read and interpret fire alarm blueprints and schematics.
  • Familiarity with NYC Building codes and NFPA fire alarm regulations.
  • Knowledge of various fire alarm products and eagerness to learn about EST fire alarm products.
  • Competence in using hand tools (e.g., meters, toners).
  • Understanding of electronic theories and principles (e.g., Ohm's Law, AC/DC).
  • Proficient in report-writing procedures.
  • Ability to safely operate ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and related equipment.
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of company policies and procedures.
  • Capability to demonstrate and integrate the HRF client service model post-training.

Certifications and Training

  • Ten-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Certification.
  • Four-Hour DOB Scaffolding Certification to be completed within 3 months of hire.
  • Completion of HRF Client Service and technical training within the first 3 months of employment.
  • EST 3 certification to be obtained within 6 months of appointment.
