Position Summary

We are seeking an Associate Fire Alarm Programmer who will deliver outstanding preventive and maintenance services to our clientele while ensuring exceptional customer relations. This role is vital in supporting the organization's vision, mission, and culture. Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, with some trade school education or 6 months to 2 years of trade school certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of fire alarm experience with S-98 certification.
  • Alternatively, 4+ years of fire alarm experience with the ability to obtain S-98 certification within 3 months of hire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute tasks typical of a Troubleshooter as required.
  • Program small to medium-sized projects and associated fire alarm panels.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics effectively.
  • Assess the functionality of components.
  • Install components and prewire fire alarm panels, ensuring accurate wiring and voltage output.
  • Bootstrap fire alarm panels.
  • Troubleshoot field devices and circuits.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials utilized.
  • Generate system status reports post-troubleshooting.
  • Foster positive client relationships through professional engagement.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficient in computer applications and software.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire alarm systems and their operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret fire alarm blueprints and schematics.
  • Familiarity with NYC Building codes and NFPA fire alarm standards.
  • Understanding of fire alarm products and a willingness to learn EST fire alarm systems.
  • Competence in using hand tools (e.g., meters, toners).
  • Knowledge of electronic theories and principles (Ohm's Law, AC/DC).
  • Proficient in report writing.
  • Ability to safely use ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and related equipment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Effective time management abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of company policies and procedures.
  • Capability to demonstrate and apply the HRF client service model after training.

Certifications and Training

  • Ten-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Certification.
  • Four-Hour DOB Scaffolding Certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Completion of HRF Client Service and technical training within the first 3 months of hire.
  • EST 3 certification within 6 months of appointment.
