Job Overview

The Maintenance Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet operations. This position involves continuous monitoring and analysis of maintenance issues, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and coordinating maintenance activities across various locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts ongoing analysis of Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Configuration Deviation List (CDL) items, as well as maintenance discrepancies for all operational aircraft.
  • Facilitates communication between flight crews and maintenance personnel, providing technical support and ensuring timely resolution of maintenance delays.
  • Notifies relevant personnel of any incidents, including in-flight emergencies and maintenance-related delays.
  • Maintains accurate records of maintenance advisories, logs, and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Reviews incident logs to confirm that all corrective actions are documented and addressed according to company standards.
  • Coordinates unscheduled maintenance efforts, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to meet operational demands.
  • Provides training and guidance to new maintenance controllers, promoting adherence to established procedures.
  • Acts as a liaison between maintenance operations and engineering teams during off-hours.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role includes competitive pay rates, along with medical, dental, and vision benefits as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Possession of FAA Airframe and Powerplant licenses is mandatory.
  • Experience with Boeing and/or Airbus aircraft systems, including troubleshooting and maintenance manuals.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective collaboration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with maintenance software.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to support operational needs.
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions for maintenance challenges.
  • Experience with aircraft maintenance manuals and technical documentation.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a maintenance control role is advantageous.
  • Five years of line maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Hawaiian Airlines' fleet is a plus.
  • Two years of college education is desirable.
  • Knowledge of ETOPS programs and significant systems is beneficial.
  • Experience with maintenance tracking software such as TRAX or MyBoeingFleet is preferred.
  • Experience with specific aircraft models, including Boeing 717, 787, A321, and A330, is an asset.
