Position Overview
The Maintenance Controller plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet. Responsibilities encompass a range of tasks essential for maintaining operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts ongoing analysis and monitoring of Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Configuration Deviation List (CDL) items, as well as other maintenance discrepancies for all active aircraft. Ensures that any inoperative systems do not compromise flight safety or increase crew workload. Responsible for logging all MEL/CDL items into the system.
- Coordinates maintenance operations for aircraft experiencing delays at various stations. Engages with flight crews and line maintenance teams, as well as external maintenance contractors, to facilitate timely resolutions.
- Alerts relevant personnel regarding incidents such as accidents, in-flight engine shutdowns, and emergency situations that may affect flight schedules.
- Documents maintenance advisories and maintains necessary logs, turnover reports, and technical documentation.
- Reviews incident logs for aircraft damage to ensure all corrective measures are documented and executed in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Facilitates unscheduled maintenance actions by coordinating troubleshooting efforts and managing the movement of personnel and resources to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
- Provides training and guidance on established processes to new hires and maintenance team members.
- Ensures adherence to established procedures and processes throughout maintenance operations.
- Assists Technical Services Supervisors in various operational phases.
- Acts as a communication link between maintenance teams and engineering departments during off-hours.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this role includes a competitive pay rate, which encompasses A&P license premiums and skill-based pay. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits are provided in alignment with the collective bargaining agreement.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Possession of FAA Airframe and Powerplant licenses.
- Formal and informal training in systems, along with practical experience in line maintenance for Boeing and/or Airbus aircraft, including troubleshooting and knowledge of FAA regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with all management levels.
- Proficient in computer usage, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support operational requirements.
- Ability to develop innovative solutions for challenges in Maintenance Operations Control.
- Familiarity with AMM, IPC, WD, TSM, and FIM.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a maintenance control role is advantageous.
- Five years of line maintenance experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Hawaiian Airlines' in-service aircraft is a plus.
- Two years of college education is preferred.
- Knowledge of ETOPS programs and significant systems.
- Experience with software programs such as TRAX, MyBoeingFleet, and Airbus World.
- Experience with Boeing 717, 787, A321, and A330 aircraft is beneficial.
