Position Summary

The Maintenance Controller plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational integrity of our fleet. This position is responsible for overseeing maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts ongoing analysis and monitoring of MEL/CDL items, deferred maintenance, and discrepancies for all operational aircraft. Ensures that any inoperative systems do not compromise flight safety or increase crew workload.
  • Coordinates maintenance efforts for aircraft experiencing delays at various stations, liaising with flight crews and maintenance personnel to facilitate timely repairs.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for reporting incidents, engine shutdowns, and emergencies that may affect flight schedules.
  • Maintains accurate records of maintenance advisories and ensures proper documentation of all maintenance activities.
  • Reviews incident logs to confirm that all necessary corrective actions have been executed in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitates unscheduled maintenance actions by coordinating troubleshooting efforts and the movement of necessary resources.
  • Provides training and guidance to new hires and fellow Maintenance Controllers on established procedures.
  • Ensures adherence to maintenance protocols and processes across the board.
  • Assists Technical Services Supervisors in various operational tasks as needed.
  • Serves as a liaison between maintenance teams and engineering departments during off-peak hours.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of FAA Airframe and Powerplant licenses.
  • Experience with Boeing and/or Airbus aircraft, including troubleshooting and familiarity with maintenance manuals and FAA regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with management at all levels.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to travel as required to support operational needs.
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions for maintenance operations challenges.
  • Familiarity with AMM, IPC, WD, TSM, and FIM.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a maintenance control role.
  • Five years of line maintenance experience.
  • Familiarity with Hawaiian Airlines' in-service aircraft.
  • Two years of college education.
  • Knowledge of ETOPS programs and significant systems.
  • Experience with software such as TRAX, MyBoeingFleet, and Airbus World.
  • Experience with Boeing 717, 787, A321, and A330 aircraft.
