Location Description:
The Marriott Phoenix Chandler, located in a Southeast suburb of Phoenix, is a full-service hotel with 264 guest rooms and over 21,000 sq ft of event space. Our hotel features modern decor and is situated within the Price Road Corridor, near some of Arizona's largest employers.
Job Summary:
- Assist staff with expediting problem payments and follow up with guests regarding satisfaction with guest-related issues.
- Process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning room, and issuing and activating room key.
- Process all payment types, including room charges, cash, checks, debit, or credit.
- Set up accurate accounts for each guest upon check-in.
- Anticipate sold-out situations and obtain satisfactory alternative accommodations when the property cannot accommodate guests with reservations.
- Block rooms in the computer and identify designated requirements and requests.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping to track readiness of rooms for check-in.
- Review shift logs/daily memo books and document pertinent information in logbooks.
- Count bank at the beginning and end of shift. Balance and drop receipts according to Accounting specifications.
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
- Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Anticipate and address guests' service needs.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
Requirements:
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have interpersonal skills and commitment to internal customer service standards.
- Must be highly organized.
- Willing to work on day shift, evening shift, weekends, and holidays if required.
- Must be able to multi-task, be a self-starter, and have the ability to apply appropriate resolution to stressful situations.
- Must have strong computer skills and be able to operate the Property Management System.
- Must be capable of performing all hourly functions and operating all equipment in the hotel.
- Must be able to work all shifts and be flexible in the amount of work hours at the job.
