Position Overview

Role Summary:

Sovah Health is seeking a qualified individual to oversee security operations, ensuring a secure environment for both personnel and visitors. This role includes acting as the Safety Officer and ensuring adherence to safety regulations and emergency management protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct proactive surveillance and respond promptly to security threats.
  • Investigate and document all security-related incidents and hazards.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff and visitors to enhance their safety.
  • Manage the scheduling and duties of security personnel.
  • Review and maintain security and safety documentation for future reference.
  • Oversee the safeguarding and management of patient valuables.
  • Evaluate security staff performance for annual reviews.
  • Develop and manage the operational budget for the Security and Safety department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently are essential. Candidates must be capable of functioning in high-pressure situations and communicating effectively in both verbal and written formats. A valid driver's license is necessary.

Physical Requirements: Ability to remain on feet for over 90% of an 8-hour shift, occasionally lift and assist with up to 300 pounds, and work in varying temperature conditions.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Experience: A minimum of four years in security or law enforcement is preferred, along with knowledge of safety management and supervisory experience.
