Role Summary:
Sovah Health is seeking a dedicated individual to deliver security services aimed at fostering a secure environment for both staff and visitors. Responsibilities encompass routine patrolling, documenting incidents that occur during shifts, and aiding medical personnel with challenging patients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engages in proactive surveillance and responds promptly to potential or actual security threats.
- Investigates and addresses all security-related incidents and hazards on the premises.
- Maintains awareness of and adheres to policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency preparedness plans, facilitating scheduled drills and simulations.
- Offers information and assistance to patients, staff, and visitors to enhance their safety on-site.
- Completes a comprehensive and accurate shift report prior to departure.
- Assists nursing staff with combative or disruptive patients, including the application of restraints as directed by the Nursing Supervisor.
- Responds to all emergency assistance calls.
- Collaborates with Nursing Supervisors to secure and manage patient valuables.
- Conducts safety inspections of designated areas.
- Performs fire extinguisher inspections as assigned.
- Secures the helipad for helicopter arrivals and departures and documents the process.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently are essential. Candidates must manage stressful situations effectively and demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in verbal and written communication is required, along with the ability to handle challenging situations with respect and tact. Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, and Joint Commission codes is preferred. Basic computer skills are necessary.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or walk for 95% of a 12-hour shift, tolerate varying weather conditions, lift up to 75 lbs, and navigate multiple flights of stairs.
Certifications: American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification is required within 60 days of hire. Completion of a Handle with Care program is required within 90 days of hire.
Licenses: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
Experience: Previous experience in Security, Safety, Police Work, or healthcare is advantageous.
