Position Overview

Sovah Health is seeking a dedicated individual to deliver security services aimed at ensuring a secure environment for both staff and visitors. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting regular patrols and documenting any incidents that occur during shifts.
  • Assisting medical personnel with potentially aggressive patients and visitors.
  • Monitoring and maintaining records from all CCTV systems and managing the in-house access control mechanisms.

Proactive Security Management

Engaging in vigilant monitoring and responding promptly to any security threats that may arise.

Investigating and addressing all security-related incidents and hazards within the facility.

Staying informed about and adhering to policies and procedures related to alarms and emergency preparedness plans, including facilitating scheduled drills and simulations.

Customer Service and Reporting

Providing assistance and information to patients, staff, and visitors to enhance their safety while on the premises.

Completing a comprehensive and accurate shift report prior to concluding the shift.

Collaborating with nursing staff to manage and secure patient valuables as necessary.

Safety Inspections and Emergency Response

Conducting safety inspections of designated areas and performing fire extinguisher checks as assigned.

Securing the helipad for helicopter arrivals and departures and documenting the process.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Skills: Strong critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision are essential. Candidates must be capable of functioning in high-pressure situations and taking appropriate actions.

Proficient problem-solving skills are necessary to navigate various scenarios effectively. Candidates should possess the ability to communicate events clearly in both verbal and written formats, handle challenging situations with tact, and maintain a good memory. Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and Joint Commission standards is preferred, along with basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or walk for 95% of a 12-hour shift, tolerate varying weather conditions, and lift up to 75 lbs. Candidates must also be able to ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs and work at heights.

Certifications: Candidates must obtain American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire and complete a Handle with Care program within 90 days of hire.

Licenses: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

Experience: Previous experience in security, safety, law enforcement, or healthcare is desirable.
