Security Specialist II PRN

Role Summary: Sovah Health is in search of a dedicated individual to deliver security services aimed at maintaining a secure environment for both staff and visitors. Key responsibilities encompass routine patrols, documentation of incidents during shifts, and assisting medical personnel with challenging patients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct proactive surveillance and respond promptly to potential or actual security threats.
- Investigate and manage all security-related incidents and hazards on the premises.
- Stay informed about and adhere to policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency preparedness plans, facilitating scheduled drills and simulations.
- Provide guidance and assistance to patients, staff, and visitors to enhance their safety within the facility.
- Complete detailed and accurate shift reports prior to departure.
- Assist nursing staff with disruptive or combative patients, including the application of restraints when directed by the Nursing Supervisor.
- Respond to all emergency assistance requests.
- Collaborate with Nursing Supervisors to secure and manage patient valuables.
- Perform safety inspections of designated areas.
- Conduct fire extinguisher inspections as assigned.
- Secure the helipad for helicopter arrivals and departures and complete necessary reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently are essential. Candidates must manage stressful situations effectively and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to convey events accurately. Candidates should handle challenging situations with respect and tact. Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and Joint Commission codes is beneficial, along with basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or walk for 95% of a 12-hour shift, tolerate varying weather conditions, and lift up to 75 lbs. Candidates must be able to ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs and work at heights.
Certifications: AHA Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification is required within 60 days of hire. Completion of a Handle with Care program is mandatory within 90 days of hire.
Licenses: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
Experience: Previous experience in security, safety, law enforcement, or healthcare is preferred.
