At New Story School, we are dedicated to enhancing educational experiences for students with special needs. We are currently seeking a qualified Behavior Technician to provide individualized support to students on the Autism Spectrum, ranging from ages 3 to 22. This role involves working closely with students in home and community settings, focusing on implementing tailored programming to meet each student's unique Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize principles of behavior science to effectively tutor students and manage behaviors as necessary.
  • Conduct data-driven practices as assigned to track student progress.
  • Implement Precision Teaching and discrete-trial training methodologies.
  • Apply direct instruction techniques to facilitate learning.
  • Engage in habit training duties to promote positive behaviors.
  • Maintain accurate records of student data and progress.
  • Follow behavior management programs tailored to each student.
  • Create and sustain a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Submit all required documentation by established deadlines.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
  • Ability to perform non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection.
  • Quick reflexes and mobility to ensure student safety in potentially hazardous situations.
  • Capability to assist in evacuating students during emergencies.
  • Maintain certifications in assigned crisis management programs.
