Role Overview: Behavioral Health Technician

The Behavioral Health Technician at NewPath Child & Family Solutions is crucial to the well-being and progress of our clients. This position involves providing direct care and supervision to children within our Residential Interventions Program, specifically those facing challenges stemming from childhood trauma.

As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will be responsible for meeting each child's fundamental life, educational, and emotional needs. You will strive to create a consistent and structured environment for the youth in our care.

Available Opportunities: Full-time, part-time, and PRN positions with flexible scheduling options.

Shifts Offered:

2nd shift: 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm

3rd shift: 10:00 pm - 8:00 am

Compensation:

Earn up to $19 per hour *(with opportunities for advancement through the NewPath Tier system)

Additional shift differentials: $1.00 for 2nd shift; $0.50 for 3rd shift.

  • Supervision Hours for Clinical Counseling/Therapy Licensure (Costs Covered)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide active supervision and engage with program youth throughout daily routines, including meals, hygiene, educational instruction, therapeutic sessions, and recreational activities.
  • Implement and uphold program guidelines while assisting youth in understanding rules and expectations.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all youth in our care.
  • Actively participate in educational and recreational activities.
  • Model appropriate behavior management, problem-solving, and coping strategies.
  • Engage with youth and families in a trauma-informed manner.
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques as trained through company protocols.
  • Complete all necessary documentation before the end of each shift.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth or in a Residential Treatment setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with behavioral interventions is advantageous.
  • Comfort and willingness to work with a diverse client population.
  • Ability to engage in physical activities, including recreational tasks.
  • Must be at least 20 years old.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance with no DUI/OVI violations and a clean driving record.
