Objective:
Accountable for delivering direct assistance to students within an educational setting. Aids the classroom educator in fostering an atmosphere that encourages the students' personalized academic and behavioral development.

  • Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties:
Contributes as a member of a treatment team in devising tailored strategies for each child and becomes acquainted with the student's case history.

Completes all necessary documentation such as strategy sheets, assessments, incident reports, and monthly progress reviews.

Assists educators by participating in assessments and contributing to student records including IEPs, Functional Behavior Assessments, and Behavior Plans.

Ensures all required documentation is submitted accurately and promptly.

Collaboration:
Actively engages in daily debriefings and student meetings, as well as staff or program meetings as scheduled.

Works closely with teaching staff to promote a safe and professional environment.

Collaborates with classroom educators in the creation and execution of daily lesson plans.

Direct Student Support:
Participates in the formulation of each student's individual treatment plan and strategy sheet, ensuring implementation as outlined.

Provides classroom assistance to students through individualized and small group educational and behavioral support.

Demonstrates support for students through one-on-one rapport building and therapeutic interactions throughout the school day.

Assists the classroom educator in executing instructional plans for students.

Quality Assurance:
Engages in modifying clients' behavior plans as necessary to optimize progress.

Utilizes student assessment data and additional resources to support individualized behavior plans.

Conducts all levels of crisis intervention, including de-escalation strategies and emergency procedures when required.

Minimum Qualifications:

This role necessitates a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), and at least one year of clinical experience working with children and families.

Must possess fundamental technical skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Windows and proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications.


Work Environment:
Exposure to a mix of office, educational, and mental health treatment settings. Interaction with children exhibiting behavioral challenges. Potential exposure to loud environments and clients who may display verbal and physical aggression.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.

While fulfilling the responsibilities of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Must be capable of sustained physical exertion and able to participate in physical restraint techniques and exercises to ensure client safety at all times.
