About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team at Applied Behavioral Services. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to children with autism and related disabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Instructional Support: Assist in organizing and maintaining instructional areas, preparing and keeping reinforcement and needed materials accessible.
  • Instruction Delivery: Deliver instruction following procedures learned from initial and ongoing training sessions and based on feedback from supervisors.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data accurately following policies and procedures put into place by Applied Behavioral Services.
  • Program Development: Maintain programming material for all students, monitor designated child's IEP/Treatment plan objectives, and the progression of goals.
  • Behavior Support: Conduct reinforcer assessments, deliver reinforcement following principles outlined by Applied Behavioral Services, and implement behavior support plans.
  • Intervention and Troubleshooting: Identify when interventions are needed for specific children and programs, complete troubleshooting forms when necessary, and implement all interventions directed by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Crisis Intervention: Possess the ability to perform non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection and guidance of potentially physically aggressive students during crisis situations.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to physically assist with evacuating students during emergency situations and possess the ability to react quickly and be sufficiently mobile to redirect students that could be injurious to themselves or others.
  • Certification: Must earn and maintain full certification(s) in assigned crisis management programs.
