Position Summary

DBH is looking for two (2) full-time Adult Recovery Support Specialists/Case Managers to become part of the Recovery Supports team, which is a vital component of the extensive services provided by the Adult Substance Abuse team at DBH. The objective of the Recovery Support Program is to engage clients in a meaningful recovery journey by helping to navigate and illuminate the path to recovery while instilling hope. One position will be located within the Intensive Outpatient (IOP) clinic, while the other will operate from the Recovery office.

Key Responsibilities

The Recovery Support Specialist will work towards achieving program goals through the following key activities:

  1. Eliminating obstacles to recovery and managing cases;
  2. Providing intensive outreach and engagement;
  3. Facilitating individual and group recovery coaching; and
  4. Implementing a comprehensive continued care program.
Qualifications

The Adult Recovery Support Specialist/Case Manager is an entry-level peer certified provider who delivers recovery support services, targeted case management, and skills development services to adults facing substance use challenges and mental health issues. The RSS aids clients in effectively utilizing available community resources that will support and sustain independent recovery. Services may be rendered in various settings including home, office, and community.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A clean driving record is necessary to operate DBH vehicles.
  • Certification as a Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) in the State of Utah is required or must be obtained within three months of hire.
  • Completion of targeted case management (TCM) certification within 30 days of hire is mandatory.
  • First Aid and CPR training must be completed within 30 days of hire.
  • All employees must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screening. Compliance with Federal drug laws is required, including no use of medical marijuana.
Work Schedule

This position is classified as full-time and non-exempt. The selected candidate will collaborate with the supervisor to establish a regular work schedule, which will include:

  • Up to three evenings during weekdays;
  • Possible weekend assignments;
  • Occasional work to support recovery activities on weekends.

DBH reserves the right to require overtime, weekend work, and/or assignment to evening or night shifts based on operational needs. Some travel may be necessary.

Compensation & Benefits
