Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Operations Manager to join our team at US Foods, Inc. This role will be responsible for managing the daily work and safety of associates engaged in building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, power industrial equipment, and security maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and assign facility projects for quality and timely completion, ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Lead and train associates on preferred work methods (PMWs) and ensure a culture of safety that promotes injury-free work environments.
  • Perform management functions, including staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews, and terminations, while maintaining associate relations through regular meetings and open communication.
  • Develop business relationships with third-party vendors, including utility representatives, refrigeration contractors, janitorial services, pest control, and security providers, to ensure efficient operations and communication.
  • Manage the selection, purchase, utilization, and inventory of Company assets in support of the facilities department, coordinating with other departments as necessary to ensure upgrades and repairs are completed efficiently.
  • Prepare budget, profit plans, and capital requests as required, suggesting efficiency ideas and cost reduction measures to increase facility efficiency.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, conducting audits to ensure all required inspections and documentation are completed accurately and retained.
  • Coordinate efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, associate observations, updating PMWs, accident investigations, and routine safety inspections, as well as emergency response and crisis management activities.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance management experience.
  • Working knowledge of ammonia and Freon systems, environmental regulations, and building, life/safety, and fire protection standards and codes.
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain co-worker relationships, with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, with strong problem-solving and organization skills, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong leadership abilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
Travel and Education

10% travel required, typically for mandatory meetings and/or training. High school diploma or GED required, with possession of a valid state Driver's license. Preferred qualifications include certificates, licenses, and registrations in refrigeration/HVAC, Level 1 Ammonia Operation Certification, Powered Industrial Equipment Certification, and Certificate in fleet trade/mechanic.

The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. In Washington, the expected compensation for this role is between $79,300 and $132,100. This role is also eligible for incentive pay.
