Project Kuiper is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at enhancing global broadband accessibility through a network of 3,236 satellites positioned in low Earth orbit (LEO). The primary objective is to provide fast and affordable internet services to communities that are currently unserved or underserved, thereby bridging the digital divide. This project is set to benefit a diverse clientele, including individual consumers, businesses, government entities, and various organizations that operate in areas lacking reliable connectivity.
Role Overview
The Kuiper team is on the lookout for enthusiastic, customer-oriented professionals to step into the role of Warehouse Operations Leader. In this position, you will oversee warehouse personnel across various functions such as material receipt, picking, kitting, and material delivery. Your ability to navigate uncertainty will be crucial as you establish the operational vision, ensuring that the team consistently meets customer expectations. You understand that your team's success hinges on effective leadership, and you will leverage your energy, motivation, and innovative mindset to foster trust and collaboration within your team.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, support, mentor, and inspire your hourly workforce, fostering a culture of inclusion, innovation, and high performance.
- Ensure safety, quality, productivity, and adherence to customer delivery commitments.
- Supervise daily warehouse operations to meet operational requirements with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.
- Collect, analyze, and report on process metrics/KPIs to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Enhance efficiency and quality through process-oriented strategies, improvement initiatives, and root cause analysis.
- Set and manage team objectives and critical metrics to guarantee business success, instilling accountability within the team.
- Lead and execute essential business initiatives across the team.
- Collaborate effectively with various functions, including Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance.
- Conduct employee evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions for your team.
- Contribute to Operations project teams focused on new product introductions and other manufacturing initiatives.
A Day in the Life
In this role, you will actively engage with your team during their shifts to uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You will drive productivity and efficiency improvements through data-driven decision-making and analytical problem-solving. Your responsibilities will include labor forecasting and ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet business demands. Recognizing the importance of cross-training, you will utilize this strategy to provide labor flexibility based on daily workload requirements.

Basic Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 2 years of experience with Amazon (blue badge/FTE) or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of direct management experience overseeing employees and their performance.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP.
- Willingness to adapt to shift assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- APICS certification.
- Forklift certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Smartsheet.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective coaching and mentoring capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various U.S. geographic markets. The base salary for this position ranges from $100,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $162,000/year in our highest geographic market. Compensation is influenced by several factors, including market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers a total compensation package that may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and other forms of compensation, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
