Position Summary

The warehouse is a non-retail environment focused on the receipt and distribution of special orders and large stock transfers to our retail locations. As a warehouse associate, you will utilize our inventory management systems to select materials and prepare them for shipment. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to resolving inventory discrepancies.

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week with opportunities for overtime.
The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols to ensure personal and team safety
  • Exhibit a keen eye for detail and accuracy when handling materials
  • Be open to operating a forklift (training will be provided)
  • Remain active and mobile throughout the shift in a warehouse setting
  • Work independently and collaboratively to achieve stock transfer goals
  • Develop a thorough understanding of product codes and warehouse management systems
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Demonstrate behaviors aligned with Dunn Lumber's core values
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

To excel in this role, candidates must be able to lift materials weighing 60 lbs or more, transport them short distances, and load them appropriately. Proficiency in typing and general computer skills, along with a positive and cooperative attitude, are essential.

Training and Environment

This entry-level position includes a paid two-week training program, conducted on-site with a supervisor or at a designated training facility. Training will cover essential topics such as product knowledge, point of sale systems, and operational procedures.

The work environment is active, requiring employees to be on their feet for the majority of the shift, with a moderate to loud noise level.
