Position DetailsThe Distribution Center is a non-retail facility responsible for receiving and dispatching special order items and managing large stock transfers to our retail locations. The Warehouse role involves utilizing inventory tracking systems to gather materials and load them into large containers for transport to designated stores. This position demands a high level of focus, attention to detail, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to resolving inventory discrepancies. Additionally, you may assist colleagues in moving special order items within the warehouse and, at times, make deliveries using a company vehicle or operate a forklift.
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week with eligibility for overtime.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM.
Successful candidates should be able to:
- Adhere to all safety protocols to ensure personal and team safety
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and accuracy when preparing materials for stock transfers
- Be willing to operate a forklift (training will be provided)
- Stand and move throughout the warehouse for the majority of the shift
- Work independently and collaboratively to achieve stock transfer goals
- Learn and maintain knowledge of product codes, point of sale systems, and warehouse management software
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
- Act in accordance with Dunn Lumber's core values
- Perform additional duties as assigned
To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to lift materials weighing 60 lbs or more, carry them short distances, and load them into vehicles. Proficiency in typing and general computer skills, along with a positive and collaborative attitude, is essential.
Additional InformationThis entry-level position includes a paid two-week training period, with ongoing learning opportunities during employment. Training will take place on-site with a supervisor or at a designated training facility, focusing on product knowledge, point of sale systems, and yard operations.
The work environment is active, requiring employees to be on their feet for most of the shift, with a moderate to loud noise level.
