**Job Overview**
The Patient Access Center Specialist will provide essential clerical and administrative support to ensure patients are scheduled, registered, and ready to receive quality care in a timely and friendly manner.
**Responsibilities:**
- Answer phone calls with exceptional customer service skills.
- Schedule patients using the designed algorithm and utilize nurse triage when necessary.
- Properly scan relevant paperwork into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Work closely with practices to ensure data items are accessible and correctly located in the standard EMR location.
- Provide directory information to internal and external inquirers.
- Act professionally at all times.
- Show knowledge of departments and services available in the facility.
**Requirements:**
- High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred or equivalent education and experience.
- Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record Skills.
- At least one year's experience in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to learn new skills and adapt quickly.
- Meet productivity metrics and report to work as scheduled.
- Interpret instructions and prepare records while maintaining patient confidentiality.
