Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Graphic Packaging International. As a key member of our purchasing department, you will be responsible for securing goods and services for our facility in accordance with our purchasing policy and delegated authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt and professional purchasing services to internal customers by communicating effectively with all operating departments, engineering, stores, and maintenance areas.
  • Evaluate and process material and contractor requisitions to ensure stable supply and timely availability.
  • Ensure purchased goods and services are of acceptable quality and meet established specifications.
  • Prepare and publish specifications for bids, evaluate and document bid responses/results, verify history of supplier service and ability to meet contract specifications and negotiate contracts.
  • Support and expand an effective supplier base.
  • Evaluate and recommend new suppliers based on quality, service, and competitive pricing.
  • Implementation of corporate sourcing agreements and strategies.
  • Track and report supplier performance.
  • Pursue opportunities to leverage buying power of the paper mill and company.
  • Ensure adherence to financial and purchasing policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of heavy manufacturing procurement experience (bidding, negotiations, administration of contracts and agreements).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential for success.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • SAP Business Software or similar ERP experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • BA or BS degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • General schedule is an 8-hour Monday through Friday.
  • Willing to work additional hours as needed, including weekends and other off hours based on the demands of operations.
  • Occasional travel.
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screens or other electronic devices.
  • Required to wear steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection when in manufacturing areas.
