Position Overview:
This role is integral to the operations of the Supply Management Logistics & Property Management Department. The specialist will engage in various clerical and manual tasks related to the receipt, verification, storage, and distribution of supplies, materials, gases, and equipment essential for the institution's functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving Shipments:
Ensure accurate receipt and unpacking of shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and invoices. Document receiving reports for all merchandise and prepare reports on any shortages or damages. - Storage Management:
Organize and store materials following established protocols to maintain an efficient inventory system. - Transportation:
Operate light to medium-duty vehicles for the collection and delivery of materials based on priority needs. Load and unload items manually and with equipment. - Inventory Assistance:
Participate in special inventory projects for materials, gases, and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness in assigned areas. - Customer Interaction:
Provide professional and timely responses to customer inquiries, assisting visitors with directions and information while executing distribution tasks. - Additional Duties:
Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in using computers for email and internet tasks.
- Experience in supply chain and distribution processes.
- Knowledge of standard office equipment and safe loading/unloading practices.
- Dependable with the ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively.
- Physical capability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks.
Work Environment:
This position may require evening or weekend hours as needed. All candidates must successfully pass a background check prior to employment. The institution promotes a customer-focused environment, ensuring superior service to all stakeholders.
