Salary Range

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $65,000 - $90,000, considering factors such as relevant professional experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Our comprehensive benefits package supports staff and their families.

Job Responsibilities

We seek a dedicated High School History Teacher Specialist to work closely with department teams, fostering self-guided learners. As a Humanities Educator, you will teach a curriculum emphasizing World, US History, American Government, and Economics, preparing students for AP and collegiate coursework. You will also guide students to analyze texts, develop critical thinking, and engage in discourse.

  • Demonstrated passion for teaching and supporting students' social-emotional and academic growth.
  • Interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities (1-2 years experience preferred).
  • Academic expertise in Education, History, Geography, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, or the Humanities.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; teacher certification not required but must meet NJ state certification eligibility requirements.
