Teaching Role: As an Elementary Education Specialist at Uncommon Schools, you will have the rewarding opportunity to shape young minds and foster a love for learning in your students. This role requires co-teaching and creating an engaging classroom environment that encourages mastery and promotes academic discourse. Your daily responsibilities will include teaching reading and writing skills, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Additionally, you will be responsible for teaching Social Studies curriculum that incorporates analyses of America's diverse histories, with an emphasis on cultural and civic awareness.

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $65,000-$75,000 per year, depending on relevant professional experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools.

Job Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need a demonstrated commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development. You should also have a demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities. Academic expertise in Elementary Education, Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or other related fields of study is required. Prior to starting employment, you must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. While teacher certification is not a prerequisite, you do need to meet NJ state certification eligibility requirements.
