As the Performance Analysis Lead, you will spearhead the Performance Analysis Reporting initiative for the Royal Navy. You will join a dedicated team focused on data-driven decision-making, comprising both military and civilian personnel. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing essential business intelligence to senior leaders, enabling informed decision-making at key strategic boards and portfolio levels.
  • Contributing to the Navy's Integrated Plan to facilitate critical capability transitions in alignment with national security reviews.
  • Identifying strategic risks that may impact the Royal Navy's future performance and ensuring effective risk management across the Navy Command Operating Model.
  • Delivering quarterly corporate reports to the Ministry of Defence using advanced digital tools for Performance and Risk Reporting.
  • Assuring the annual agreement plans with Defence Equipment and Support.
  • Collaborating with the broader Performance Group to enhance Portfolio Analysis and Insights, developing suitable tools and products.

Role Responsibilities

The Performance Group, situated within the Directorate of the Naval Staff, is dedicated to aligning delivery efforts with organizational priorities. The group operates through three key pillars: Performance Insights, Portfolio Performance, and Project Delivery Performance, working in an agile manner to provide valuable products and services.

The Performance Analysis Lead will play a crucial role in helping Navy Command achieve its strategic goals by facilitating data-driven decision-making at senior-level reviews. You will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to conduct thorough analyses and report on organizational performance. Your expert analytical support will be vital in guiding decision-making and prioritization within the Performance Insights domain.

Key Duties Include:

  • Conducting comprehensive analyses of data and portfolio information, identifying solutions to complex challenges, and assessing the impact of budget dependencies on Navy accountabilities.
  • Establishing a robust portfolio analysis and reporting framework to support senior boards, focusing on risk and benefit management across Navy Command.
  • Engaging effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders to build successful partnerships across Defence and Head Office.
  • Innovating and collaborating with wider MOD communities to develop new analytical products that enhance evidence-based decision-making.
  • Delivering well-informed recommendations and visual aids to assist senior leadership in making effective decisions.
  • Providing direct line management to team members, fostering their professional development and ensuring the delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Maintaining a focus on continuous improvement and innovative solutions in data management and analytics.
