Overview

As a Lead Financial Management Analyst, you will play a crucial role within the United States Navy, specifically in the Comptroller Department, overseeing the Accounting and Travel Divisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and provide guidance on all aspects of budget management.
  • Conduct thorough analyses to evaluate the costs and benefits of various financial management strategies.
  • Implement necessary legal and regulatory controls, ensuring compliance in financial operations.
  • Plan and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of critical work without disrupting regular operations.
  • Oversee additional fiscal and accounting responsibilities as required.
  • Manage and direct the work of subordinate staff.
Position Requirements

Conditions of Employment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must meet suitability standards for federal employment.
  • Participation in the direct deposit pay program is mandatory.

  • Current federal employees must have served at least one year at the next lower grade level.
  • Retired military members must adhere to specific provisions regarding civilian employment.

  • This role is classified as Financial Management Level III, and certification must be achieved within specified timelines.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, including:
  • Experience in budget formulation and estimation.
  • Experience in analyzing financial management methods.
  • Experience in implementing regulatory controls over budgets.
  • Experience in advising on fund acquisition and utilization.
